The domestication of the horse had a giant impact on the lives of ancient human societies. Several articles about these animals and their role in the development of cultures and civilisations have already been published in Archeowieści. In this article, based on a publication by Zainab A. Albshir, a PhD student affiliated with the Faculty of Archaeology at the University of Warsaw, we hear from an expert on the identification of horses in the iconography of ancient Mesopotamia.
