Cząstków Polski: or, how the Neolithic search for the “island of happiness” in Mazovia came to an end

For decades, it was believed that the Mazovia region was not conducive to the Neolithic settlement of the first farmers. One of the main arguments was the lack of fertile soil, which had come to be regarded as an axiom… However, the latest research shows that this region was the site of a rapid expansion of the communities belonging to the so-called Linear Pottery culture.

But was their stay a happy one? Did they find their “islands of happiness” here?

The results of analyses of materials from the Cząstków Polski settlement are changing our understanding of the migratory patterns of the first farmers in the Warsaw Lowland.
