The aim of the IDUB scholarship is to create better conditions for students’ academic development, including by enabling them to gain the experience, knowledge, and skills necessary to improve the quality of their research and their thesis.

The funding awarded helps to increase the internationalisation of the University of Warsaw’s research activities and to strengthen cooperation with leading research centres around the world, enabling participation in domestic and international scientific conferences, domestic and international research projects, international training courses and summer schools, as well as short-term research visits abroad.

In 2026, 220 scholarships were awarded. Scholarship holders carried out research projects at academic institutions including the University of Oxford, Jagiellonian University, the University of Cologne, the University of Geneva, Charles University, the Max Planck Institutes, Seoul National University and Aarhus University. The most frequently chosen research activities were: participation in specialist training courses or summer schools, participation in international conferences, and short-term research visits to OECD countries.
