Category: III.3.2, Podcasts, Results
What relations connect solidarity with its seemingly opposite pole, egoism? How do the relationships between both of them translate into social life? – these questions were explored by Karolina Zakrzewska, MA, from the Faculty of Philosophy.
The result of MA Zakrzewska’s research is a multi-author monograph entitled “Solidarity and egoism in contemporary academic discourse”. This publication is a collection of eleven studies in the social sciences on the contemporary reception of the issues of solidarity and egoism.
Within the framework of Action III.3.2 “Promotion of scientific research in the public domain”, popular science podcasts were recorded. They present research findings in an accessible and comprehensible way, in particular the variety of social discourses around the issues of solidarity and selfishness, their cognitive and axiological foundations and practical implications. The audiences of the broadcasts are those interested in contemporary debates on issues such as social justice, changes in the economic structure of Polish society, identity changes in contemporary society, the substantive and persuasive value of argumentative strategies in contemporary public debates on solidarity and social responsibility, including high school students, young people interested in the humanities, social issues, and teachers.
In addition, materials have been prepared to explain the concepts related to the title of the monograph in an accessible and attractive way, also for lay people.
