If you carry out research in the humanities or social sciences in the IDUB program (Excellence Initiative – Research University) at the University of Warsaw and would like to present it at the second edition of the scientific conference „BREAKTHROUGHS. The latest research in the humanities and social sciences”, October 16-17, 2025, submit a presentation abstract by July 15, 2025 to: research.managers+przelomy@uw.edu.pl

Up to 650 sunken ships may be lying in the Polish Baltic Sea, many of which have dangerous substances on board.

The study, carried out in a project funded by the IDUB 2024 “New Ideas” competition at the University of Warsaw, focused on wrecks located in the Polish economic zone of the Baltic Sea and found that cleaning up the potentially most dangerous ones would bring huge social benefits.
