Symposium of the Faculty of Chemistry and the Faculty of Biology, University of Warsaw – POB I

On 17 June 2025, a symposium entitled “Science for the Planet – from a molecule to an ecosystem” was held in Auditorium C of the Biological and Chemical Research Centre at the University of Warsaw, summarising the achievements of Priority Research Area I (POB I) of IDUB.

The symposium provided an opportunity for biological and chemical discussions, which may give rise to ideas for new joint projects.

The event was honoured by the presence of the Vice-Rector for Research at the University of Warsaw, Prof. Zygmunt Lalak. The following were also present: Coordinator of the “Initiative of Excellence – Research University” programme, Dr Dominik Wasilewski; Member of the POB1 Coordination Committee, Prof. Magdalena Popowska; Dean of the Faculty of Biology, Prof. Krzysztof Spalik, Vice-Dean for Research Organisation at the Faculty of Biology, Prof. Anna Ajduk; Vice-Dean for Research at the Faculty of Chemistry, Prof. Karolina Pułka-Ziach; Vice-Dean for Student Affairs at the Faculty of Chemistry, Prof. Maciej Chotkowski; Vice-Dean for Development at the Faculty of Chemistry, Prof. Adam Lewera; Director of the Biological and Chemical Research Centre at the University of Warsaw, Prof. Ewa Bulska; Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs at CeNT UW, Prof. Bartosz Trzaskowski.

The symposium was organised by the Faculty of Chemistry and the Faculty of Biology at the University of Warsaw.
