Continuation of the training programme for doctoral thesis supervisors

From March 2026, the training programme for supervisors of doctoral dissertations conducted at the University of Warsaw doctoral schools will continue.
The aim of the initiative is to support the development of skills necessary for working with PhD students. The programme is addressed to those employed at the University of Warsaw who act as supervisors (including assistant supervisors) of doctoral dissertations, as well as those preparing to take on this role.
The continuation of the Programme, running from March to September 2026, will cover key areas of development needs for supervisors, including:
- formal and legal issues concerning the monitoring of doctoral thesis preparation and the process of awarding doctoral degrees,
- issues related to recognising and counteracting undesirable behaviour, such as mobbing, discrimination, harassment, hate speech,
- shaping cooperation with doctoral students,
- content related to neurodiversity and supporting neuroatypical individuals in achieving academic success.
The programme is implemented on the initiative of the directors of doctoral schools at the University of Warsaw and financed by the “Excellence Initiative – Research University” Programme, V.3.1. “Development of UW Staff competences – 2026 Edition” and the project “UWażni na dostępność – Uniwersytet Równych Szans” implemented by the European Social Fund Plus as part of the European Funds for Social Development 2021-2027 programme.
