IDUB scholarships for PhD students awarded

108 PhD students from UW doctoral schools have received financial support from the University of Warsaw – the IDUB Scholarship for the preparation of doctoral dissertations in accordance with of the Priority Research Areas of the IDUB Programme.

The scholarship award ceremony was held on 15 April 2025 in the Golden Hall of the Kazimierzowski Palace. It was attended, among others, by the laureates, representatives of the UW Rectors’ authorities, directors of doctoral schools, representatives of the IDUB Programme Coordination and Support Team and the Vice-President of the UW PhD Students’ Union.

Scholarships for the preparation of doctoral dissertations in line with the Priority Research Areas (POB) are awarded from the academic year 2022/2023 onwards, and the evaluation of submitted applications takes into account the relation of the dissertation subject to the POB and the scientific disciplines assigned to the POB, as well as the academic achievements of UW PhD students.

In this year’s third edition of the competition, 108 winners were selected. Each of them will receive a scholarship of PLN 12,000.

Since the start of the competition, 357 UW PhD students have been awarded, with a total of more than PLN 4 million paid out.

The competitions are conducted within the framework of Action IV.4.1 “A complex programme of support for UW PhD students” “Excellence Initiative – Research University” programme implemented at the University of Warsaw from 2020.
