Category: Events, II.4.1, POB IV, POB V, V.2.2

The scientific conference “Breakthroughs. The latest research in the humanities and social sciences”, which was focused on the presentation of research projects carried out as part of the “Excellence Initiative – Research University” programme at the UW, was a great success.

The event took place on 17-18.10.2024 at the University of Warsaw Library. It was a space for the exchange of ideas and experiences on the latest research in the humanities and social sciences and an opportunity to establish contacts and deepen cooperation between female and male researchers carrying out projects under the ‘New Ideas’ grants and other research competitions in Priority Research Areas IV and V. The programme included meetings with winners and awardees of prestigious ERC grants as well as advice for grant applicants. A networking space was also available during the conference, fostering the exchange of experiences and building new research initiatives. The event provided an excellent opportunity to discuss the future of research in the humanities and social sciences and to reflect on their growing role in understanding a dynamically changing world.

The opening of the meeting was attended by the Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Maciej Gdula, who highlighted the importance of supporting research in the humanities and social sciences, as well as their significant impact on the intellectual and social development of our country.

Some of the conference presentations will be available online soon. Please follow the information on the IDUB website.
