SEED4EU+ – a research initiative of the 4EU+ Alliance

Category: II.1.1, Results

Five projects involving the University of Warsaw as a partner were awarded in the third round of the SEED4EU+ competition held in 2025 by the European Alliance of Universities 4EU+.

Academic employees of 4EU+ member universities were invited to submit applications for funding for innovative inter-university cooperation. The funds awarded will provide initial financing for the implementation of innovative ideas in out-of-the-box initiatives. The aim of the competition was primarily to support research-focused projects, but high-quality educational initiatives and information activities were also eligible.

The competition attracted considerable interest: a total of 53 proposals were submitted in response to the SEED4EU+ 2025 call. Of these, 15 projects were selected for funding. A high quality of proposals was submitted, with a threshold set at 92%.

In 2026, the following projects will be implemented, with the University of Warsaw involved as a partner:

  • “Lexical Innovation for Gender-Inclusive Europe” IN-GENIOUS (dr Christine Martinez, Faculty of Applied Linguistics),
  • “Targeted Therapeutic Degradation of Aldo-Keto Reductases to Overcome Anthracycline Resistance in Cancer” TACKLE (prof. dr hab. Sebastian Kmiecik, Biological and Chemical Research Centre),
  • “Translating access: multilingual HEalth and Legal communication for MArginalized communities in Europe” THELMA+ (dr hab. Łucja Biel, prof. ucz., Faculty of Applied Linguistics),

  • “Biopolymer Nanocarriers for Sustainable Drug Delivery: From Formulation to Function” BIOnanoDELY (dr Mikołaj Dziurzyński, Faculty of Biology).
