Archeo-oriental seminar

We invitae you to another Archaeo-Oriental Seminar centered around the question: “Who finds ‘tribe’ offending?”.

We will talk about how this (and similar) term hinders the understanding of non-European societies, and to what extent it is a Western conception, adopted by them; the discussion will be initiated by Prof. Hanna Rubinkowska-Anioł (Africanist and historian focused on Ethiopia) and Dr. Piotr Cichocki (anthropologist).

The seminar will take place on 2 December, Monday at 17.00 in the reading room of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, 69 Hoża Street.
