V.4.1. Management of the Excellence Initiative
IDUB Programme Objective:
The quality of the University management will be improved, including efficiency-related organisational changes. The creation of a management structure model for IDUB, using modern IT tools.
Objectives:
Creation of a new management/auditing structure for the proper implementation of the program. Separation of the Office at the central level for the management of IDUB, the purchase of IT tools for project management or the expansion of existing systems.
The Excellence Initiative is the most comprehensive program that the University has ever implemented. 70 activities will be launched, including a dozen or so which are both horizontal and central. During the implementation of IDUB, several hundred scientists from Poland and around the world will be involved, as well as many teams of research-related employees (including administration), dozens of doctoral candidates, and hundreds of students. In the programme, the University of Warsaw must monitor the implementation of a number of indicators on an ongoing basis. It is impossible to manage such a complex program without (1) creating an effective management structure, and (2) IT project management tools.
Milestones:
- The Ordinance by the Rector of the University of Warsaw, to establish a new management structure
- The purchase of project management tools or expansion of existing systems
- Implementation of a project management tool (including user training at the POB level).
