Result of competition for the implementation of new quality management systems in laboratories

Based on the recommendation of the Ochota Campus Accreditation Board, by a decision of the IDUB Programme Manager, funding was awarded in a competition for the implementation of new quality management systems in laboratories at the UW under Action I.4.1.

Funding of 50,000 PLN was awarded to a proposal by Dr Jeff Palatini, head of the Genomics Core Facility laboratory at the UW’s at Centre of New Technologies.

The grant awarded will be used to implement a quality management system for a medical laboratory at the UW permanently increasing the research potential of the University. The implementation will take place in accordance with the PN-EN ISO 15189:2013-05 standard “Medical laboratories – Requirements for quality and competence”. This will be the first accreditation of its kind for a laboratory at the University of Warsaw.

CeNT’s Genomics Specialist Laboratory, Genomics Core Facility, is dedicated to the analysis of RNA and DNA sequences, their structures and interactions in biological and biochemical processes. The aim of the laboratory is to enrich the academic community with access to a broad spectrum of specialised facilities for research in the field of Genomics and related disciplines such as Metagenomics, Transcriptomics, Epigenomics, Interactomics, Oncogenomics, Structural Genomics and many other rapidly developing areas of great importance in modern medicine and personalised diagnostics.
