SONATA BIS 13 grant for dr Joanna Różyńska

Category: New Ideas, POB IV, Results

Dr Joanna Różyńska (a winner of the New Ideas for Parents competition) received a SONATA BIS 13 Grant financed by National Science Centre. The researcher will carry out the “The right to physical and mental integrity in the age of biomedicine and neurotechnology – an integrative bioethical analysis” project.

The primary goal of this project is to determine (a) what is the content, moral justification and scope of the right to physical integrity; (b) what is the content, moral justification and scope of the right to mental integrity; and (c) to investigate whether it is possible to develop a unified, coherent and ethically and practically adequate conception of the right to physical and mental integrity.

The researchers hope that the project will enrich global bioethical and neuroethical reflection on the nature and content of the right to physical and mental integrity. They also hope that the results of the project will have an impact on the way courts and various decision-making bodies interpret and protect the (legal) right to physical and mental integrity.

Amount of funding: 1 405 928 PLN
